Bunnies In Search of Humans to Love
If you would like to adopt, be sure to read the adoption requirements and application section here.

People often adopt rabbits from other shelters instead of us, saying our rabbits are already being given very good care, and those in other shelters are in greater need. Please remember we do have some very needy rabbits, and every rabbit adopted from us enables us to take in the neediest rabbit from another shelter.

Hoping to adopt? Keep in mind as you look through our rabbits, single rabbits are available only to people looking for a friend for their own single rabbit. We can not pair singles on request for people who have no rabbits already, since the results are unpredictable. For those with no rabbits or an existing pair and wanting another, we always have already proven-compatible pairs available.

Burnette

Some people offered hutches on Craig’s list, but when the people went to pick them up, they found they contained rabbits. The rabbits had been a 4-H project and it was obvious that the people were simply going to dump them to be eaten by the first predator they encountered. Big, beautful Burnette was one of these. This is one big armful of bunny!

Estelle Estelle and Chester

Currently in Foster Care - will be back soon!

This lovely pair came from the Humane Society of Boulder County where one of them once nipped someone. As sweet and gentle as they are, we can only assume that someone hadn’t a clue as to how to approach them.

In fact, they are a really wonderful pair, friendly and lively and just as cute as they can be. They're here hoping that, as young as they are now, they will soon find a Forever home so they can have the long, happy life they were born to live.

Estelle - DOB:  2009-04    Weight:  4-3/4 lbs
Chester - DOB:  2009-04    Weight:  5-1/4 lbs

Sunny

Someone asked a friend to take Sunny to the Denver Dumb Friends League because she seemed to be a biter. Of course, DDFL said that they would kill her, so the friend turned to us. Sunny is NOT a biter - she simply needs to feel secure, so she doesn’t have to feel that she has to defend herself.

She is a lively little one with a cautious streak, yet friendly. This young lady needs to move into a loving family and have a chance to become the happy bunny she was meant to be.

Sienna Sienna and Chimini

Currently in Foster Care - will be back soon!

These two adorable little mini-lops were rescued by a group in Wyoming. Then they were taken to our Grand Junction satellite.

Despite the moves these lively youngsters were friendly when they got here and are getting friendlier. “We’re actually glad we got to come to Denver where we can meet some real bunny people”.

Sienna - DOB:  2009    Weight:  5-1/2 lbs
Chimini - DOB:  2009    Weight:  5-1/2 lbs

Drew

Some people offered hutches on Craig’s list, but when prospective buyers went to pick them up, they found the hutches contained rabbits. The rabbits had been a 4-H project, presumably to teach children about good animal husbandry. But it was obvious that the adults missed the point, as they were simply going to dump the hapless rabbits to be eaten by the first predator they encountered.

Drew was one of these. Besides being a beautiful red, he is friendly and confident. "And I'm a big boy, too. Lookie here, I'm bigger than this elephant". He’d like to bring some cheer into your life!

Carlin Carlin

Carlin is all decked out in his formal Dutch tux ready for a Homecoming Party – HIS! You see recently he found himself at the Summit County Shelter, where he realized he had little chance of being adopted.

At their request, we brought him here so this friendly little guy has a chance at a long and happy life. “You may find me a bit cautious when we first meet, but I’ll let my guard down as we get to be best pals living together”.

Carlin - DOB:  2008    Weight:  4-1/2 lbs

Peyton

Some people offered hutches on Craig’s list, but when the people went to pick them up, they found the hutches still contained rabbits. The rabbits had been a 4-H project. Sadly, it was obvious that the people were simply going to dump them to be eaten by the first predator they encountered, though what that teaches children about animal husbandry seems so wrong!

Lucky for big, beautiful Peyton, who was one of those doomed creatures, he was brought to us instead . He is friendly, confident, and one big armful of bunny! “Bet I could fill your heart, too, if you’ll give me a girlbunn, a home, and a chance”!

Phoebe Phoebe and Miranda and Jasper

Currently in Foster Care - will be back soon!

These three bunnies have had quite a checkered past. First, they were rescued by a group in Wyoming. "Okay, we're safe now", they must have thought.

Then they were taken to our satellite in Grand Junction. "Well, NOW we'll find the right home", supposed the trio.

From our satellite, they've now come to Denver to find a bigger audience to hear their pleas for a nice secure home with patient people who will allow them to blossom into the lovely bunnies they really are. "Please?" their eyes plead.

Phoebe - DOB:  2009-04    Weight:  4-1/2 lbs
Miranda and Jasper - DOB:  both 2009-04    Weight:  5-1/4 and 4-1/2 lbs

Barney and Cooper

This cute pair of bunnies, blue-eyed Barney and his buddy Cooper, lived in a well-protected area outside, because their human mom’s husband refused to allow them to live inside. Eventually, the humans decided to part ways and the bunnies desperately and the bunnies desperately needed a safe place to go. So here they are, adorable and with the typical dwarf personalities. They’re just a little skittish, but they aren’t fearful.

What they needs is a chance to live, not just in their new human’s heart, but also inside the house where all good HOUSE rabbits should be living!

Barney - DOB:  2009-01    Weight:   3-3/4 lbs
Cooper - DOB:  2007    Weight:   3-3/4 lbs

Barney

Ricky Ricky

A foreclosure led to one family giving their rabbits to another family, who couldn’t keep them, because they were renting where pets weren’t allowed.

As a result, the rabbits came to us. This young man is Ricky, clearly an unusually marked rabbit! If he were writing his own resume, he'd be sure to put down that he really enjoys being held and especially loves to be petted!

Ricky - DOB:  2006    Weight:  4-3/4 lbs

Mitzi

Objecting to the “evaluation” treatment to which she was subjected at her previous shelter (as would any sensible rabbit!), Mitzi was declared unadoptable by the shelter to which she was taken after being found as a stray.

So of course, we took her and have found her to be among the most adoptable of rabbits. As you can see she is adorable to look at, and she has a nice dose of self-esteem. She can be a little feisty and territorial, but she loves to be cuddled.

Mitzi - DOB:  2009    Weight:  3-1/4 lbs

Linda Linda

Poor little Linda was a stray who was apparently hit by a car. She was found in a gutter, with a broken pelvis and leg, and some road burn. She was also very skinny. Since she was only born in 2008, it's safe to say her short life has been a very hard life. she has been delighted to find good food and gentle hands. Her pelvis has healed beautifully. The next job will be to see what can be done for her leg.

Since coming to us, she has been delighted to find good food and gentle hands. Linda is very gentle, likes people a lot, runs to the front of her crate for attention, which may not always be such a comfortable thing for her to do, just proving what a loving bunny this little Ruby Rabbit is! She is very gentle, friendly, and craves attention.

Linda - DOB:  2008    Weight:  4-1/2 lbs
