Bunnies In Search of Humans to Love
If you would like to adopt, be sure to read the adoption requirements and application section here.

People often adopt rabbits from other shelters instead of us, saying our rabbits are already being given very good care, and those in other shelters are in greater need. Please remember we do have some very needy rabbits, and every rabbit adopted from us enables us to take in the neediest rabbit from another shelter.

Hoping to adopt? Keep in mind as you look through our rabbits, single rabbits are available only to people looking for a friend for their own single rabbit. We can not pair singles on request for people who have no rabbits already, since the results are unpredictable. For those with no rabbits or an existing pair and wanting another, we always have already proven-compatible pairs available.

Tobias

A pregnant-looking doe arrived at the Longmont Humane Society. Tonni Loutzenhiser, who volunteers both there and with us, was worried about what would happen to babies born there, so we said that we would take the mother "just in case".

On her way to us with the doe, now known as Twinkle, Tonni called to say the doe was lifting hair from her breast, so we had a nesting box ready when she arrived. But when we got her out and looked her over, she was obviously NOT pregnant. Then we looked in the carrier, and there wrapped in piles of soft fur, were eight tiny newborns!

Tobias is one of those wonderful babies. We are very happy to have him grow up here where he gets the best of care and learns from all the wonderful volunteers how great people are to him.

Potter Potter and Charmin

When a family lost their farm to a foreclosure, another family took their three llamas, 36 chickens, and a variety of other animals. Then they discovered that there were three rabbits, so they took them, too.

Redford, a beautiful, rust-colored male, was delighted to find himself with two white female bunnies, and quickly did what young male rabbits do - he fathered two litters which were born on May 25, 2008. Potter was one of those babies.

Charmin was found as a stray with her mother, Chandra. The two were taken to a shelter, and when their hold time was up, came to us. Within a couple of weeks of her arrival, poor little Charmin somehow mananged to break her front right leg. A splint held it in place while it healed. Born in early 2009, Charmin is soft, soft, soft! She is also pure, fluffy white with dark eyes. For those who love the white fur but not the typical pink eyes, this is your chance to live with a white rabbit. And maybe, the BIGGEST ears ever! She is as friendly and sociable as she is soft. What adorable rabbits these two friendly, lively, and gentle bunns are - simply a wonderful pair! They are always happy to meet people and eager to find their forever home.

Jenkins Jenkins

Josie was flown to us from Salt Lake, Utah with other rabbits by "Pilots for Paws" to save her from being killed. She also arrived, supposedly spayed and micro-chipped. Unfortunately, she was neither.

After several months with us, Josie's pen was apparently invaded by an unneutered male, and she gave birth to four beautiful babies. She has weaned them and is now spayed and ready for a hus-bunn and a home!

Jenkins is one of Josie's beautiful babies. He's clearly got a sharp eye out for the people who will snatch him up and take him to his new home to live a privileged bunny life forever. "Yes, forever please. I'm going to be there for you - please be there for me!"

Willard Willard and Florence

A woman had established a rescue organization called "Little Bit o’ Love" in Carpenter, WY. Sadly, she had little help, but couldn’t say "no" to animals who were to be killed in animal shelters. Eventually, there were just too many animals without adequate care. So "Little Bit o’ Love" was shut down. Willard and Florence were amoung the 19 rabbits who came to us from there.

Willard is a friendly boy, who enjoys being petted. Florence is not only absolutely adorable, she is very friendly. She is also wonderfully tolerant of grooming, making her an ideal companion. They are looking for someone who has love, patience, and wants a very hands-on relationship with their rabbits. "Is that YOU? Would you like to hold us, snuggle us, and keep us combed and pretty?" If you pick us and take care of us, we won't let you down.

Melvin

Miranda was a stray, picked up and taken to the Adams County shleter, where she produced eight beautiful babies on March 3, 2010, so she was transferred to us.

Melvin is yet another one of her lively boys who has been socialized from birth and is happy, healthy and friendly. All he needs is a friend and a home and he's good to go for a lifetime!

Winkie Winkie

Another home foreclosure led to Winkie being returned to us. This is so sad for Winkie, and for her family. We hope things improve for them soon.

Winkie is quite a friendly and calm little ladybunn who enjoys being held and petted. She's pretty sure she could win the heart of any boy bunn who wanted to come meet her and see if they could find happiness together in a Forever Home,
