Bunnies In Search of Humans to Love
If you would like to adopt, be sure to read the adoption requirements and application section here.

People often adopt rabbits from other shelters instead of us, saying our rabbits are already being given very good care, and those in other shelters are in greater need. Please remember we do have some very needy rabbits, and every rabbit adopted from us enables us to take in the neediest rabbit from another shelter.

Hoping to adopt? Keep in mind as you look through our rabbits, single rabbits are available only to people looking for a friend for their own single rabbit. We can not pair singles on request for people who have no rabbits already, since the results are unpredictable. For those with no rabbits or an existing pair and wanting another, we always have already proven-compatible pairs available.

Buddy

Buddy was apparently born to people who hadn’t planned on a litter of bunnies, for they indicated their reason for leaving him at the Longmont shelter was “inadequate housing.” Of course, it’s possible that he was an unwanted gift, an impulse purchase, or any number of other things. He is lively, friendly, and curious.

When he first arrived, he seemed so little and a tad scared, so we let him "bunk" with a gentle giant named Jamie. But little Buddy is a big boy now and he and Jamie decided to find their own best home as singles to live with a girl bunny.

We all admire Buddy's sweet personality and know that he will make a wonderful addition to the family looking for a companion for their rabbit.

Herschel Herschel

Herschel appears to be a brother of Hermosa. These siblings were born in 2008 and Herschel plans to end up sporting close to 6 lbs. of adorableness.

He is an interesting charcoal and chinchilla coloring. He used to be a little wary of people, probably for good reason from their background, but he's easily picked up and handled and has become more and more trusting as he's spent more times with people who like and pay attention to him.

Herschel wants everyone to know he's not going to be too fussy. He'll be happy to go to a new home with either a gril bunn or a boy bunn, as long as they like each other. If you have a honey bunny, he's got the time!

Jacob

A woman had established a rescue organization called "Little Bit o’ Love" in Carpenter, WY. Sadly, she had little help, but couldn’t say "no" to animals who were to be killed in animal shelters.

Eventually, there were just too many animals without adequate care. So "Little Bit o’ Love" was shut down. Jacob was one of the 19 rabbits who came to us from there. This gentle, cautiously friendly guy is looking for what he needed in Wyoming, a little bit o' love! Do you have any to spare for him?

Ellice and Evangeline

Currently in Foster Care - will be back soon

My name is Ellice. I was born on June 25, 2007 right here in the Colorado HRS shelter. I am very proud of myself because I already know I'm a really lucky bunny. People have always been nice to me. My mother, Emma, has been a great bunny-mom and I had lots of fun romping with all my brothers and sisters as we grew up. Now let me introduce my sister, Evangeline.

Sharing Ellice's birthday, Evangeline is a very curious rabbit. She's been happy to meet all the various nice visitors who come in every day. Seems to her like every day is a new adventure. Recently she and her sister Ellice decided to team up to find a new home - twice the eagerness for a home in this crate!

Like youngsters of all species, they're ready to go out into the world and have a happy life. They want, - "Oh, you know, just what anybody would want for themselves, good food, a nice private area to rest, and room to run and play. We've had a wonderful childhood. Now we eagerly anticipate a fun and wonderful life as beloved house rabbits!" These sisters will fit into any home where their humans enjoy them and gives them love and attention. And Evangeline, especially, can't wait to see all your stuff!

Whitney Whitney

The Salt Lake County Shelter emailed us begging us to take some of their rabbits. When we learned that they were going to be killed if we didn’t take them, we took them all. Whitney, like all of these rabbits, had been a stray.

Whitney is a prototype Ruby Rabbit; she is friendly and happy. For people smart enough to realize what gems these particular rabbits truly are, she is going to be a wonderful prize!

Whitney and Beau have bonded. Phot of pair coming soon.

Blix

Blix is on the alert for his new family. He thinks they will bring him a bunny he can snuggle with and they will take him and his enormous ears home for ever and ever. his search in earnest, he was at another shelter which ran out of room for him. No, he's not that big, but no matter what size a bunny is, a bunny takes up a crate and they were just plain out of crates. So here this youngster is - looking, hoping, waiting....

Kristen Kristen

A woman had established a rescue organization called "Little Bit o’ Love" in Carpenter, WY. Sadly, she had little help, and couldn’t say "no" to animals who were to be killed in animal shelters. Eventually, there were just too many and she was shut down. Kristin was one of 19 rabbits who came from there.

Poor Kristen here is very shy and nervous. Obviously, despite all the good intentions in the world, she got exactly what was promised, just a "little bit of love" and it wasn't enough to teach her that the world is a safe place for a pretty little one such as she and that she can trust people - at least the people she will meet here with us!

Give this lovely young rabbit a chance to find a LOT of love in a home with your boy bunn. All of you will feel better about the world as Kristen learns all about that little thing called Love!

Kristen - DOB:  2008    Weight:  4-1/2 lbs

Elmo

Five pounds of stray cuteness has found it's way to Broomfield. Elmo is his new name, though he was undoubtedly called something else by the people who were careless enough to let him get away. This little guy is at just the right age to fit into a home where he can demonstrate his good manners and both give and get the affection so typical of bunnies in nice families. We all look forward to him finding his way back home, the RIGHT home this time.

Chaucer Chaucer

This is an incredibly sweet rabbit, and as you can easily see, he's a real looker, too. Hard to imagine that Chaucer was deemed too vicious to get adopted at the shelter who had him before we got to rescue him! With that opinion of him, how would they have EVER placed him?

We are delighted to make this cute little guy's acquaintance and we know that such a young bunny, with all his charms will soon sweep some lucky girl bunn looking for a friend right off her feet!

You will find him here at CO-HRS, getting ready for the big day as best as any rabbit can.

Chaucer - DOB:  2008    Weight:  4 lbs

Huxley

Huxley is a mini-lop boy sporting a solid black coat. He's been spending time figuring out he can trust people and learning to like all the attention he's been getting. He's full of antics to delight the lucky family who takes him home.

He'd be just the ticket for a nice young lady bunn looking for a fun companion. Life with him will be full of fun and full of "cute", too.

Huxley - DOB:  2007    Weight:  5 lbs

Patty Patty

Patty, another of the youngsters brought to us from a family of bunnies that were born to a bunny at Table Mountain Animal Center, is a beautiful little lady. She and her sisters were happy to come to us for a couple of reasons. They needed more space than was available at TMAC, so being here is much nicer for them. And the really big reason the girls are so excited to be with us is they've heard from all the other bunnies how well treated they are here and how careful we are to find just the right home for each and every bunny.

Little Miss Patty was born the day before Halloween in 2007. Just as wonderfully friendly, lively, and curious as her sisters, she still has the great ambition to be the first of the girls to make her impression on a handsome young boy bunn and those who love him. She is eager to move on with her life in the biggest and best way she can - into a forever home!

Patty - DOB:  10/2007    Weight:  6-1/2 lbs
