Bunnies In Search of Humans to Love
If you would like to adopt, be sure to read the adoption requirements and application section here.

People often adopt rabbits from other shelters instead of us, saying our rabbits are already being given very good care, and those in other shelters are in greater need. Please remember we do have some very needy rabbits, and every rabbit adopted from us enables us to take in the neediest rabbit from another shelter.

Hoping to adopt? Keep in mind as you look through our rabbits, single rabbits are available only to people looking for a friend for their own single rabbit. We can not pair singles on request for people who have no rabbits already, since the results are unpredictable. For those with no rabbits or an existing pair and wanting another, we always have already proven-compatible pairs available.

Jesse

This handsome Jesse has come to us to find his own darned house! You see, he used to have a home with a human family and everything, just like house rabbits should, but the people were forced to move to a home where they couldn't have one of their precious family members live with them.

Jesse is going to have to take matters into his own paws and charm some loving family and bunny girl to let him come live with them. He is ready, willing, and WAITING…..

Marshall Marshall

Marshall was one of the 19 rabbits who came to us from "Little Bit o’ Love" in Carpenter, WY. This was a facility run by a woman who had little help, but couldn’t say "no" to animals who were to be killed in animal shelters.

Eventually, there were just too many animals without adequate care. So "Little Bit o’ Love" was shut down. Marshall is quite friendly and loves to be petted. He is greatly hoping that he will soon be chosen to go live where there is plenty of that going around.

Marshall - DOB:  2009    Weight:  4-1/4 lbs

Fleur

This sweet little flower came to us from the Cheyenne Animal Shelter, where she had been relinquished. The cause given was “pet illness or injury,” but SHE wasn’t ill or injured, so we assume that another pet in the family was.

Although she is a bit feisty, she is easy to hold and she's certainly a vision of cuteness. She's hoping for a a new family and new home where she can really blossom!

Bashful Bashful

Bashful’s human discovered, shortly after getting her, that she (the human) had health issues serious enough she couldn’t give this sweet bunny the care she needed. Thus, this little one came to us to find another home.

Typical of the Holland lop personality — Bashful isn't very bashful - instead she is lively, friendly, and enjoys being cuddled and is eager for a new home which is looking for the best gal-bunn around (just ask her).

Bashful - DOB:  2009-07    Weight:  3-3/4 lbs

Heather

Heather, another of the fifteen rabbits we rescued from a situation where 24 were running free in a house, is the soft grey bunny princess in the group. Heather is very friendly with humans and is sincerely hoping she can go home with somebody pretty soon so she can grow up in her forever home with a family that loves her. Isn't that what any baby would want?

Lucy Lucy

Lucy was left at a Petco store, where she was offered free to anyone who wanted her. A good-hearted woman saw her, and knew that she could be taken to be fed to a snake, used to bait dogs, or even made into stew. So to save her, this kind-hearted woman took her home and cared for her until we could bring her here to find a Forever Home.

This pretty little Dutch is friendly to people, but has learned to hold her own when challenged. That trait would undoubtedly served her well had she been subjected to some of her potential fates, however as she relaxes and matures and feels secure, she’ll undoubtedly become the super-mellow house rabbit her breed is known to be.

Cosmo

Poor little Cosmo arrived from TMAC with a torn ligament on a foreleg ankle. His foot was bent under, and pointing toward his other leg, so he was trying to walk on the top of it - (ouch)

It was kept in a splint for quite some time, because the specialist want to see if, when he grew up, his bones would be heavy enough that tiny screws could be placed in them. However, when he re-evaluated the leg, he felt that fusing the ankle was the best choice. However, that was going to cost between $1200 and $1500, and our regular vet had doubts that the fusing would fail, and the leg would then have to be amputated, so we chose to go ahead and amputate.

At last, Cosmo is free of that bothersome encumbrance, is jumping up onto his shelf, and down again, and is, at long, long last ready for someone with a lovely lady-bunny to choose him to woo her, and become her hus-bunn, so he, too, can have a loving forever home.

Keegan Keegan

Keegan was found as a stray with a broken rear leg that had been been crushed at the tibia and fibula. He was taken to TMAC, and of course, they sent him to us, so he could receive the medical treatment he needed.

After several weeks in a splint, Keegan now has use of all four legs and is rarin' to go! A gentle, quietly friendly, gentlebunn who doesn’t object to being picked up. And in fact, "Please DO pick me up - pick me up to be your new bunny. I'd like to think I got well just so I could live with you and your girl bunn."

Keegan - DOB:  2009    Weight:  4-1/4 lbs

Harry and Nunus

The people responsible for these bunnies decided that they didn’t fit their life style, so they just handed them over to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley. And of course, Nunus didn’t appreciate having the plastic hand thrust at her, so HSBV declared them unadoptable. Granted, Nunus has a lot of attitude(as one would expect from a smallish female), but she’s not one to attack. And Harry is a very gentle, friendly guy.

This is a pair of small, short-haired cuties looking for a home with a lifestyle that would just adore having bunnies! "Please come in and tell us how much you like rabbits and we'll be happy to come live with you!"

Harry - DOB:  2005    Weight:  5-1/4 lbs Nunus - DOB:  2006    Weight:  5-1/4 lbs

Sophia Sophia

This little mini-lop was hiding under the tire of a car in a parking lot. When the woman got to her car, she luckily saw the frightened bunny and took her home. But her father wouldn’t let her keep the bunny, so we took Sophia in to find her a good home.

Sophia hasn't had a great start in life, so she expects people approaching her to show a little consideration. She can certainly be won over by the patient person and is friendly to those who allow for her to figure out that they aren't her enemies. People who thrill to caring for a deserving creature whose had a hard time and is just waiting to bloom will find this little girlbunn a very rewarding companion!

Sophia - DOB:  2008    Weight:  4 lbs

Truman and Melanie

Currently in Foster Care - will be back September 15th

Truman and Melanie were taken to a PetCo in a Rubber Maid bin (with the lid on!) to be given to whoever wanted them. The manager was incensed to find that the pair were sitting in urine, with little to breathe other than ammonia fumes! She ordered the man to leave, and got the rabbits to us. Incredibly, they hadn’t suffered lung damage and even their feet were in pretty good shape.

Truman is very friendly. Melanie "squeaks" with anxiety when she is picked up, but she doesn’t sturggle. She actually enjoys attention. And we're sure they are both enjoying the freedom of crate living instead of bin - nope, not gonna say "living" - confinement. Air is nice, too. Next nice thing they are looking for? A Forever Home, "with fresh air, please", they nudge.

Truman - DOB:  2007    Weight:  4 lbs Melanie - DOB:  2008    Weight:  4-1/2 lbs

Yuri Yuri

Yuri was found by a woman walking her dog one evening. Fortunately for him, he was easily caught. But since the couple travels a lot, they couldn’t keep him. He is here now looking for his Forever Home.

Rabbits are forgiving "folk", so although he is cautious, overall he is friendly and likes to be petted. "Yes, I know my first people weren't very careful with me, to let me be outside or get away from them. But I'm willing to find some people who will take really great care of me. Are you them? Then come and get me, please. I want a home - an INDOOR home."
